President

Denver, COFull Time
RestorationReconstructionExecutive LeadershipP&L Ownership

Quick Overview

My client is looking for a President to run their entire Denver restoration business. One executive, full autonomy, the whole market. Sales, operations, production, finance, and people all report through this seat. You own the P&L outright. This is not a department head role and there is no layer of middle management between you and the owner. The business is already established and profitable. The owner believes it should be significantly larger than it is, and he is hiring one person to make that happen rather than adding another manager to the org chart.

THE WHO

An owner-operated restoration company backed by a national brand, with the carrier and TPA relationships that come with it and none of the corporate drag. There is no private equity here. No board, no investor group, no exit clock, no quarterly deck to defend. The owner runs multiple locations across several states and runs them like an operator. He makes decisions in a phone call, not a committee. He is direct about what is missing. He has good mid level operators and nobody developing them into department heads who run their departments without being managed. That is the first thing this person fixes.

THE WHAT

You own the full Denver P&L. Not a shared P&L, not a rolled up number. Yours. The entire team across sales, mitigation, reconstruction, contents, and support reports through you, and you hold hiring authority and capital expenditure authority. You own the growth plan, start to finish. You build it and you run it. You get a direct line to the owner and a real executive relationship with him, not a monthly status call. Regional oversight across multiple locations is a realistic path for the right person down the road. The mandate today is Denver.

THE WHY

Most seats at this level come with a board, an investor group, or a platform that is being dressed up for sale. This one does not. You get the P&L, the hiring authority, the checkbook, and an owner who wants a partner rather than a report. If you have been waiting for the seat where the only thing standing between your plan and the market is you, this is it.

THE WHERE

Denver, CO. In-office and in the field. Candidates need Denver market presence and relationships, or a serious commitment to being here and building them fast.

The Role

You run the entire Denver business. Every function reports through this seat, and the first job is building the leadership bench: taking the managers already in the building and turning them into department heads who run independently. This is not for anyone who wants a technical or estimating seat, anyone who needs corporate structure and permission to move, or anyone anchoring at $150K to $180K. That is the wrong altitude for this seat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build the leadership bench. Take the managers already in the building and turn them into department heads who run independently.
  • Drive top line growth through sales leadership, carrier and TPA relationships, commercial accounts, and property management channels
  • Own operational performance across mitigation, reconstruction, and contents, including quality, cycle time, and customer experience
  • Manage financial performance including budget, gross margin, cash flow, AR, and EBITDA
  • Recruit and retain field talent in a market where good people have options
  • Represent the business in the Denver market through industry involvement and relationships
  • Work with ownership on long term strategy and future market growth

Requirements

Must Haves

  • Currently in restoration, or out of it no more than about three years
  • Full lifecycle knowledge across mitigation, reconstruction, and contents. Not a specialist in one piece.
  • Experience running a full operation end to end with revenue, headcount, and every function reporting to you
  • P&L ownership at eight figure scale
  • A track record of personally driving a revenue climb, and a clear answer on what the bottleneck was and how you broke it
  • Real people development. Specific examples of managers you built into leaders.
  • Denver market presence and relationships, or a serious commitment to being here and building them fast
  • A history of committing to a company and building something. Serial 18 month stints are a problem.

Preferred

  • Experience taking an operation through a major growth step and not just holding it steady
  • Existing relationships with Denver adjusters, TPAs, property managers, and commercial accounts
  • Experience building a leadership team from the ground up
  • IICRC certifications or a General Contractor's License

Compensation

$225k - $250k
Base Salary
+ Performance bonus on top of base
+ Long term incentive plan

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401k with 4% company match
  • 4 weeks PTO
  • $1,000 per month vehicle stipend plus a fuel card
  • Paid parental leave
  • Direct access to ownership and full autonomy over the market
