Reconstruction Project Manager
Quick Overview
My client is the dominant restoration operation in Eastern PA. A $50M+ business with 150 people across multiple offices, with a clear growth trajectory and the operational backbone to keep climbing. They are hiring a Reconstruction Project Manager in the Lancaster area, covering York, Harrisburg, and Lancaster inside a one-hour radius. This is for someone who has been running reconstruction projects in restoration and wants to do it inside the shop everyone in this market already knows.
THE WHO
Locally owned and operated by a leadership team that knows this market cold. The COO interviews you face-to-face, makes the call inside 2 weeks, and gets out of the way once you are producing. You report into a Reconstruction Director, and a coordinator team handles the admin and scheduling weight so you can stay in front of the work.
THE WHAT
You will own a portfolio of reconstruction projects from work order through close. Customer communication, scope, budget, subcontractors, schedule, AR. You work alongside a project coordinator who takes the admin and scheduling weight off you. You report to the Reconstruction Director and into the COO from there. Once you are fully ramped, the average PM here runs 20+ active jobs and nets over $130k all-in. Top producers push 25+ jobs and $3M in managed revenue, and the system is built to get you there if you want it.
THE WHY
Restoration is the call you get on someone's worst day. Their house just flooded. Their business just burned. You are the person who makes them whole again. Very few project management roles let you run real construction work AND walk away every day knowing you put a family back in their home. This is one of them.
THE WHERE
Lancaster, PA. The territory covers York, Harrisburg, and Lancaster inside a one-hour radius. In-office and in the field. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. No on-call rotation for Reconstruction.
The Role
You run reconstruction projects. Insurance claim losses where a property got hit by water, fire, smoke, or storm, and now needs to be put back together. Once mitigation has dried things out and stabilized the loss, you take over. You write the work orders, schedule the subs, manage the budget, talk to the customer, talk to the carrier, and close the job clean and on budget. You partner with a project coordinator who handles a lot of the documentation, scheduling, and customer touchpoints so you can stay in front of the work. This is not a technical estimator role. Estimates are written by someone else. You review them, align budget with scope, and execute. Construction knowledge matters but the real skill is software, organization, and finishing jobs. The COO says it directly. Construction is the easy part. It is the prerequisite. The job is mostly software, organization, and follow-through.
