Quick Overview

My client is a growing hospitality renovation contractor doing $25M+ in annual revenue, running occupied hotel renovation projects across the country for upper-tier flag portfolios. Ownership-led, direct culture, no HR layer, clear growth trajectory. They are hiring a Project Engineer to work out of their Dallas office and support Project Managers and Superintendents on active hotel renovation projects across the country. Growth track into full PM ownership over time.

THE WHO

Two-owner shop run by lifelong hospitality construction operators. The owners split off from a bigger shop about 20 years ago, built this business from the ground up starting in FF&E install, mill work, and hospitality logistics, and moved into upper-tier hotel renovation about a decade ago. They actively develop their people. The growth track here runs Project Engineer to Assistant Project Manager to Project Manager to Senior Project Manager. You report to a Project Manager and get real exposure to ownership from day one.

THE WHAT

You will be the organizational backbone on active hotel renovation projects, working out of the Dallas office. You own RFIs and submittals, keep the procurement log honest, chase long-lead FF&E, track schedules, and keep the Procore project book clean. You coordinate between the field, subs, vendors, ownership groups, and hotel management. You support Project Managers on multiple concurrent jobs, learn how they run scope, budget, and change orders, and get pulled into more of that work as you prove out.

THE WHY

Hotel renovation is a construction discipline you cannot learn in a classroom. Occupied properties, brand standards, PIPs, FF&E logistics, ownership groups, hotel operations. This role puts you in the middle of all of it, next to operators who have been doing it their whole careers. Being in the office with the owners means you are in the room for every deal, every scope call, and every problem solve. If you want the reps that turn a Project Engineer into a Project Manager who can actually run the work, this is the seat.

THE WHERE

In-office in the Dallas metro. Office is in downtown Dallas today with plans to relocate to the East Texas area, so candidates in either region work. This is a coordination role, not a traveling role. Occasional site visits as needed, no ongoing travel expected.

The Role

You are the organizational backbone on active hotel renovation projects across the country, coordinating from the Dallas office. You keep the paper straight so the PM can stay on scope, budget, and clients, and so the Superintendent can stay on the field. Day to day, you prepare and track RFIs, manage submittal logs and review cycles with architects and ownership, chase long-lead FF&E, verify materials hit the site on time, and coordinate delivery logistics with the property. You update master schedules, track change orders and cost information, monitor subcontractor documentation, and generate weekly project status reports. On closeout, you own punch list tracking, warranties, manuals, and final documentation for owners and brands. Procore is where the work lives. Bluebeam is the second daily tool. Excel is the third. You will get pulled into scope, budget, and change order conversations as fast as you can hold your own.
